Ok, so not the most interesting subject to talk about, but the basics are important and the subject is surprising complex and subtle. Craig Ross from Apex Futures will walk us through some orders types so we can understand the ramifications of the type of orders we place and the effects on our trading.
This one hour session will be mostly Q&A so bring you questions and get you answers. We will review such things as:
- What sequence do orders get filled? (How come I never fill on good entries?)
- Where do my orders actually sit?
- What should I do for protection?
- Is a stop limit order better than a stop market order?
- What about complex orders such if touched 2x?
- What is this slippage thing about, and how come my broker is the worse?
- Can someone (read Goldman Sachs) step in front of my order?
We will learn the mechanics about order routing and execution on the exchange servers so bring some coffee as we explore the intricacies on the topic of orders.
